Hi,
Using a DNS-323 in a Windows 7 environment. There is a Group share called BWQM on the DNS-323. For some reason the Group/User file permissions on about 600 files are out of whack!
Users can access these files for open/modify. However, our backup program Backup4all bypasses these as open files. The file properties in Windows Explorer confirm there is no permissions assigned. I have attached an example of a file with no permissions. (can't attach more than 1 file)
How can I correct these? Thanks!

Attached is an example of correct user/file permissions.

Hi,
Just a follow-up ... I have tried using icacls on 1 file to test, but encounter "Access is denied".
The command prompt is run as administrator:
S:\Miscellaneous\Logo Files>icacls "Brownlee Header2010.doc" /grant Everyone:(F)
Brownlee Header2010.doc: Access is denied.
Successfully processed 0 files; Failed processing 1 files

I have reviewed the list of files and noticed that each filename contains at least one space character - just curious ...
But then this is only 600 files out of about 18,500 files on the unit, surely there are other files with a space in the filename.
