DSM-G600, DNS-3xx and NSA-220 Hack Forum

Delighted I found these forums, have been going through many posts looking for anything that could help me with my device. I bought it mainly as a media storage device and mostly use it to download to and play media using PS3. I know it can do alot more but I don't think my knowledge or ability is capable of much more right now.

Two issues I'm having at the moment  is having to refresh the media server every couple of days when new media has been added. Doesn't bother me too much just a bit inconvenient. What I am having a major problem with is my permissions.

I have 2 1TB drives one labeled BT the other Volume_1. Suddenly I have no access to Volume 1 and on the BT drive in the BT folder \Complete where I have used the default torrent downloader to download files I can copy and paste these files but I can't delete files.

I get the message:
You require permission from Unix User\root to make changes to this file
Try again or cancel

I have tried accessing it using putty to no success.

Is there anyone who could explain what I need to do or even better remote access my system and sort it out for me?

Having seen what else the device can do I would love to install couchpotato or anything else you would suggest. I currently get most my downloads from a friends FTP and most of the files are in rar format so after downloading them i have to unpack to specified folder. Is there a program or script that could do this for me?
