I've recently bought a DNS-323 and I'm looking to put a couple of 2Tb HDDs in it. I was trying to wait for the official release of the 1.10 firmware but it doesn't look like it will appear in the next couple of weeks so I've decided to get a single 2Tb HDD this weekend so I can get my DNS up and running early next week.
I've done quite a bit of research but I can't seem to find any definite answer as to which drive would be best so I'm looking for a bit of advice from people who've used these drives.
I've discounted the Samsung F4 because of the firmware bug (I won't have the time or energy to pull my desktop apart in order to patch the drive) so that leaves me these two choices:
Western Digital WD20EARS Caviar Green or;
Seagate ST2000DL003 Barracuda LP Green
So, any good or bad experiences?
Do either of these drives have a problem with the 323 (apart form the 4k sector size)?
Big thanks to anyone who can help.

I recently bought my DNS-323 with two of the Seagate ST2000DL003's. I've had good experiences so far. I'm on firmware 1.09 and have had zero issues with 4k sectors. The Seagate drives handle that in their own hardware controller so there is no need for special formatting.
I can't speak to the WD drives.

My experiences with Western Digital support services is to put it politely 'desperately poor'.
Dealing with an artificial intelligence programme to get resolution of a real problem is more frustrating than i could have imagined.
Cannot speak for Seagate, but probably owned by the same company.
