DNS-323 Rev B FW 1.04 2x500MB JBOD FFP 1.4. The hd_a drive in one of my DNs-323s is getting flaky (or the DNS-323 is). The 323 stopped seeing hd_a and changed hd_b to Volume_1. It is now seeing hd_a again but hd_a is now Volume_2 which causes all my drive mappings from my Windows computers to not work anymore. How do I get the 323 to switch them back so that hd_a is Volume_1 again (preferably without reformatting)?
Thanks

Shut down, swap the drives in the slots, power back up. That should do it.
The right drive is the primary, Volume_1.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if you swap disks around with a JBOD configuration - my guess is - best case scenario - the DNS-323 will tell you the disks have been swapped and ask you to put them back - worst case scenario - it tells you the disks were swapped AND you lose access to the data.
