I don't really do anything special to connect my DNS-321 to OSC Snow Leopard. It just shows up in the Finder sidebar, I didn't install netatalk or anything. And I like it showing up that easily because I map my iTunes to it and my wife does as well. So I don't want to have to manually connect to it each time. And I assume that it is using Samba to connect. But now I read that Lion doesn't have Samba. I am afraid to update and lose my ability to connect to the NAS and my iTunes. Does this work?
What I want is to open Finder and see my NAS on the side, no manual connection.

Samba works fine here on Mac OS X Lion, and is seen automatically.

Oh good. I also have a user set up, I guess that works too.

I have the same issue of my 321 not showing up in Finder since upgrading to Lion... what user Setup are you talking about? Should I be able ot activate Samba in the NAS itself? BTW, I'm set to SMB in Network Access, but still I do not see my device in Finder... Thanks for your help!!!

Hi guys, I fixed it. Don't know if it's enabling NFS, or just a fluke that disappeared after a reboot, but now I see it in both my Snow Leopard and Lion OSX. Take care!
