Hi all - newb here,
I'm looking into getting either the 320 or 323 in the next week or so. I can get them for pretty close to the same price, and so on one hand I know that the wiki has packages dedicated/designed for the 323. Are all of those packages compatible with the 320 as well? Is there any hacking stuff I can do on the 323 that I can't on the 320? Or should I just get the 320? I know that the specs are much better on the 320 but I want to make sure that I can install those packages on it.

The 320 should have no problems running ffp packages, or even ffp for that matter. There is a slight modification to the startup script (you'll find on the 320 wiki) that lets it install no problem. I would go with the higher mem, better CPU but that's just my $0.02. I have the 323 and plan on upgrading soon as well. Although I want to try the 325...
