Re: TwonkyVision

*edit*

I figured out my issue... my VPN was blocking NASsetup's access to the NAS. What confused me was that NASsetup's output didn't indicate a connection problem with the NAS at all, it looked like it was connecting just fine.

Anyways, it's working now - thanks for the help. Only perf is an issue with my sad 801.11b network...

Re: TwonkyVision

Hi - figured out why my install of Twonky didn't work

My firewall on Windows PC is blocking port 9000 (all ports actually) and the wget command in the Twonky install script is timing.  Unfortunately the Twonky install script doesn't tell me that it just said everything went peachy and it is installed and running.

Re: TwonkyVision

hah well we were having the same problem for different reasons. I spoke to Twonky support and they admitted that their NASSetup app just spits out the same old success-type messages no matter what happens : )

In short: if you don't see the "pskill" messages in the NASSetup output, the wget commands may be timing out and the installation isn't working.

Re: TwonkyVision

I installed this on my unit and it works well. It even plays nice with Firefly. Not sure I needed both but the fun of being able to get both to work is just too much to resist tongue

Edit: Removed bad question. Sorry sad

Re: TwonkyVision

Im trying to use this NAS instead of my pc as my media server. I have a Denon AVR4306 Network receiver, 2 x Xbox Media Centers and two PCs to run off it, via a Linksys router. Previously I shared from my PC via SMB shares for the XBMC's and *Presumably* via UPnP in the case of the amp, using either Windows Media Connect or Twonky Media.
With the DNS-323 I have installed Twonky on it, and can access the config page fine via 192.168.1.103:9000. I set up my directory structure how I want it eg. Artist, Genre, Album, only to find that no matter how I change it I still have the same options in my amp. I restarted Twonky server, and also restarted DNS-323 but the structure never changes. More annoying is I can still listen to all the media fine, so I am guessing it is utilising the built in UPnP AV Server of the NAS, and not seeing the Twonky one. I tried disbling UPnP in DNS-323 config, to find nothing then works, cant access twonky config page or anything...

Can someone tell me how to have Twonly the only UPnP server running, or what else could be happening here???

Re: TwonkyVision

For me I disabled the UPnP server on the NAS using the webpage, then enabled Twonky and that worked well.  Did you add twonky to your fun_plug so it starts when the NAS gets rebooted?

Re: TwonkyVision

new question.  i installed twonky and its sort of working.  im trying to play mp3s on my xbox 360 from my dns 323 without having my computer turned on.  it will always start playing any song but most of the time it hits a point in the song stops playing.  i was thinking it was cause i had a poor wireless connection on my 360,  but if i hit next it will always play the next song.  i also dont think it is my connection because i can use wmp11 to play everything on the 360 but it requires my laptop to be on but this does work...  also im still on the trial version of twonky.

im running the latest version of twonky 4.4 i believe
firmware 1.03 on the dns 323
and i funplugged using this...  http://www.shadowandy.net/_html/archives/tech/dns323/

any advice would be great!
thanks
