Trouble accessing data drive (volume 1)

Hello out there

I have a DNS-323 with 2 x 2TB drives which have been set up to do the auto backup from volume 1 to volume 2. I recently had volume 1 out and was trying to use it with an external closure with windows until I learnt about the different file system types. Now the drive is back in the NAS and it is saying there are no files on the drive and when i login to admin controls it says that it needs to be formatted which I skip.

The status page on the admin controls states that the drive is only 509MB. I have used Explore2fs to see that all my files are still on the drive. I am unable to "telnet" onto the drive.

I used MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition whilst looking for info why the drive wouldnt work with windows. Its says the drive has 3 partitions. It has 1 linux swap (517.96 MB capacity) and 2 Etx2 (502.03MB, 1862.02MB) file system types, all listed as primary and the status is none.

Anyone out the able to offer a solution to get the drive functioning normally? It would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Trouble accessing data drive (volume 1)

Sounds like one of your utilities has corrupted it or messed with the partitions.

Format it and copy the data back from the backup drive.

3 * (DNS-323 with 2 * 2TB) = 12TB Running FW v1.08 & FFP v0.5
