dns-323 LAN settings speed show 10mbps

dns-323  LAN Settings speed show 10mbps

when first setup , without any drive, the dns-323 show LAn settings speed 10mbps, even thought i connect to a dlink dir-825 with gigabit nic connection, is still show 10 mbps for link speed on the web interface LAN setting configuration page.

I confirm that the connection on the router is gigabit speed, I confirm that the cable is capable of gigabit speed,

LAN setting is set for auto

when I try to apply  1000 , it hang, then I reboot the dns-323  and check the LAN setting page, it still show 10 mbps for speed, but for link speed the 1000 is selected

I already try the latest firmware, even try a third party firmware, now back with the dlink firmware , still same 10 mbps

Re: dns-323 LAN settings speed show 10mbps

Try another cable then try another router or switch - in most cases, when a gigabit capable device does not connect at gigabit speeds, the problem is a defective cable, however, it is also possible to have autonegotiation problems.

I would suggest you not try to force 1000 mbs from the NAS' web interface - even if you succeed, you run the risk of being unable to communicate with the NAS, and the only way back is a reset to defaults.
