Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

I've added iftop, nmap and transmission.

nmap and transmission doesn't seem to work for oarm, but I'm not sure why. nmap doesn't find any remote host, while nping (in the same package, using the same libpcap does). Maybe it's a kernel problem.
Transmission works, but keeps telling the listening port is closed. It cannot be true it cannot open sockets, because the webinterface works.

Both arm versions work.

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

Hi Mijzelf,

Would it be possible for you to compile the latest version of mlnet (mldonkey) for FFP 0.7? I have been running the old 3.0.4 version compiled by Shadowandy for ages, and lack the ability to do this myself. (I have tried!)

I would be so very grateful, and I'm sure this package is used by others in this forum too.

mysql also seems to fail on oarm. Not sure why, still investigating ... Maybe it's a problem with uClibc. I dont think the recent versions got much OABI testing.

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

Hi Mijzelf,
my nas is running as music server in ffp 0.5+optware environment. I'm using  the kernel sound modules I found years ago in the forum, plus MPD server daemon from optware.
It could be great having all of them in ffp 0.7.

I could help trying to compile by myself the required packages, but I don't know how to set up the ffp building environment (actually I have a virtualbox bulding machine to build optware packages for dns323, with which I built mpd and amule-adunanza)
So why don't share the whole project on a svn server, like google project?

Did svn with ffp 0.5 build scripts. Didn't like it much. My scripts for 0.7 are here: http://ffp.inreto.de/ffp/0.7/src/ (or via rsync at rsync://ffp.inreto.de/ffp/0.7/src ).
Please note that optware usually cross-compiles packages, but I don't.

If you're looking for a repository that you can contribute to, you may be interested in
http://code.google.com/p/ffp-additional/ and http://code.google.com/p/dns323-builds/
I don't know if the project owners read this forum, though, or if they're care about 0.7.

Hello everybody,

Sorry in advance for my noob questions.
Using ffp 0.7 and I am having the same problem with "Port is closed".
I can however download torrents from UDP URLs, but not from http ones. I get the message "Could not connect to tracker" for all http trackers. See below the example:

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Maybe you are right. I was trying to get mediatomb running. It stops somewhere waiting.

Then I installed uClibc from FFP 0.5, and mediatomb started working. (But it killed my FPP, as a lot of other progs (like login and sshd) doesn't work anymore. So don't try this at home)

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

I've compiled uClibc versions 0.9.29, 0.9.30, 0.9.31.1 and 0.9.32, using the .config from fonz' sources. On versions 0.9.29 and 0.9.30 mediatomb works, but I can't login using ssh. (ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host). On version 0.9.31.1 and up it's exactly the reverse. So I suppose in version 0.9.31.1 something is changed, which has something to do with OABI support. And I also suppose that sshd doesn't work fine on 0.9.30 due to a changed binary interface.
Yet the changelog 0.9.30-0.9.31.1 doesn't show any obvious suspect.

I tried with mysql, and it also seems to work on OABI with uClibc 0.9.30, but not with later versions.

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

uClibc 0.9.32 compiled without ipv6, and without rpc, other than needed for nfs, works for mediatomb, nmap and iftop.
I'm not sure about transmission. It starts, and is still complaining about a closed port, but according to iftop connections are made to the serverport, and data is streaming. But after a few minutes the webinterface dies, and a few minutes later the transmission stops.

Anyway, I've uploaded this uClibc version (it's not in the slacker menu) and an updated transmission. (The old one was dependent on ip6addr_any, which was no longer available)

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

There are also uClibc 0.9.32.1 and 0.9.33.
I think I'm going to rebuild all of oarm based on 0.9.30.3.

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

Hi Mijzelf,
Any chance compiling minidlna 1.0.23 (http://sourceforge.net/projects/minidln … na/1.0.23/) for oarm  (DNS-323 box) ?
Cheers,

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

@fonz: Have you found why 0.9.31+ doesn't work? I've been looking at the diffs, but it was overwhelming. And I don't know where to look for either. I suppose plain c shouldn't be a problem, and all problems should be found in asm?
Any idea when the shift will be complete?

@fboulange: Not at the moment. Minidlna is dependent on much other projects, and I'm not starting such a project when the base isn't stable. But I have mediatomb for you.

I have the impression that the problems have to do with Linuxthreads. They added NPTL somewhere around 0.9.31/0.9.32, maybe that broke Linuxthreads on OABI...
But I didn't investigate the details. If 0.9.30 works, I'm happy with that.
I'm already compiling packages. Maybe needs another week or so.

Hi,
Ok I'll try to do it by myself as I did it on ffp5.
Mediatomb is not as good as minidlna especially with my Samsumng DLNA TV (PS50C6500) : no thumbnails, no chapters, no subtitles menu...

I've tried to compile different missing package but each time I've got this error :

Code:

checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking build system type... arm-unknown-linux-uclibc
checking host system type... arm-unknown-linux-uclibc
checking for gcc... distcc gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

BTW I've tired to compile it using this method : http://nas-tweaks.net/106/compiling-sof … -fun_plug/

Cheers,
Fr3d

Re: Packages for FFP 0.7

You'll have to install mpfr. (Don't ask me why. If you look at config.log you'll see the linker is complaining about a missing libmpfr. Don't know what is does)/
