Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

DNS-323 constantly show up as Newly discovered UPnP device.

I am running FW 1.03.  Only a very simple fun_plg -- telnet only.

I get messages saying new UPnP device discocered on my XP desktop overy few hours or so.

I also get sign out messages on my DTV HR-20.

Does anyone have an idea what is causing this?

You should only see new UPNP device when the device reboots. Something may be causing your DNS-323 to lose connection. Check your network, check to make sure the device is not overheating and then also try it without the Fun_plug on the disk to see if something you have there is causing a reboot.

It is not rebooting.  I added date >>bootdate.out to fun_plug and it only executes when I restart it.

The temp is 118 F/ 48 C.  Is that hot?

I get the same result if I run /etc/upnpscript.

Re: DNS-323 constantly show up as Newly discovered UPnP device.

Problem solved.  On my network, I grant 60 minute DHCP leases.  Every 10 minutes, the DNS-323 runs "getdhcp" as a cron job.  This task deletes 10 minutes from the lease time and if the lease is expired, it restarts a bunch of network things including the UPNP server which causes my message.  So I modified my dhcp server to get it a one year lease and all is well.
