Hi,
My setup is as follows :-
DNS-323 (FW1.03) wired to router. RAID 0, uPNP enabled.
DSM-320RD (FW1.04eu) wired to router.
Router is D-LINK DSL-2740B.
DSM-320RD finds the DNS-323 and my PC as servers. I can play mp3's no problems from the 323.
When I play Xvid's from the 323 the picture freezes after 5-10 seconds of playback.
I can return to the main menu on the 320RD but it can no longer see the 323 as a server.
The 320RD can however still see my PC a server. I have to restart the 323 in order for
the 320RD to see it as a server again.
Has anybody experienced this problem?
Is the problem with the DSM-320RD or the DNS-323.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi sir_cybo
This isn't exactly a solution, only a testemony that i have the same problem.
I too have the same problem on my DSM-520 when playing ripped vob-files (DVD's) from the DNS-323 (I don't use my PC as a media server, since I bought the NAS to get rid of annoying PC noise). Only my files freeze after a period of 8 - 15 minuttes, resulting in the UPnP server disconnecting from the Mediaplayer, and it will not see it again, until I completely restart the NAS. I have tried ripping with both DVD decrypter, DVD shrik, CloneDVD2 (using AnyDVD) and with RipItforMe. The only thing I havn't tried yet is using Handbrake as ripper. The DVD's play on the DSM-520 with 4000 Kbps or slightly less, so the size should cauase the UPnP server to collapse.
When I play WMV files (1990 - 2500 Kbps) om the NAS and DSM-520 mediaplayer I have absolute no problems. At the beginning I thought it was because of a crap D-link switch, but I have tried using a HP Procurve 408 (10/100 mbit switch) with exactly the same result. So the culprit must be either the DNS-323 or the DSM-520. But whether it's the NAS or the Media player that cause it, I simply do not know.
I too would like advice for this problem, eventhough I use a differet D-link Mediaplayer, since the problem seems to be inherited, between the different D-link Mediaplayers.
Has anyone tried Twonkyvision MediaPlayer on the DNS-323? Is it any better (more stable?) or the same? And is it safe to use, without screwing up the DNS-323 completely.
My setup is as follows:
DNS-323 (FW1.03) wired to router. RAID 1, uPNP enabled.
DSM-520 (FW1.01eu) wired to router.
Router is D-LINK DGS-1008D (Gigabit).

Twonky is safe to use, HOWEVER, you must also note that if you have a very large collection of media on the device being shared by twonky you WILL run into memory issues on the DNS-323 causing it to fail until reboot. I have both the DSM-320RD and the DSM-520 so i will check here as well to see what kind of issues I run into with the UPNP Av server.
