vsftpd: new version?

Hello Fonz

Would you be so kind to compile a new version of vsftpd? It seems the one currently present in your repository (2.0.7) suffers some deficencies regarding full SSL/TLS-support. This happens to be just the usage I need it for.

The changelog https://security.appspot.com/vsftpd/Changelog.txt is not 100% clear about it, but this source makes a very precise statement: http://ftps.codeplex.com/

Many thanks & cheers!

Haven't had time to test. Please let me know, if it works as expected.

Re: vsftpd: new version?

2.3.4-1 does not work as expected on my DNS-323 w/fun_plug 0.5. Using the same vsftpd.conf as with 2.0.7-1, connections fail immediatedly with a "server refused connection" error (might not be exact text in error message). These connections previously worked via Transmit or FireFTP; the only thing changed was the vsftpd version.

I am still very interested in upgrading because with 2.0.7-1: 1) FireFTP is nearly unusable thanks to the Mozilla SSL library change that makes directory listings take minutes; and 2) FileZilla connections always fail with a TLS error. I believe the latter is known to be resolved with later versions of vsftpd.

I'm happy to help test another build. Thanks.

Re: vsftpd: new version?

Hi
Same issue here with "server refused connection" with new version of vsftpd

I've migrated from ffp 0.5 to 0.7 on my DNS-320. I've also installed vsftpd 2.3.4-1 using slacker(I don't really see any other version for ffp 0.7). Copied over all config and user files as I had them in 0.5 but no joy. Not sure what I'm missing as the same config worked fine with ffp 0.5 and vsftpd 2.0.7

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks
