Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Hi All
I got a new Samsung Smart TV and found that the built-in UPnP server in my DNS-323 does not work with it.
I installed funplug 0.7 OARM on my DNS-323 rev A with D-Link Firmware 1.10
It looked like all was working o.k. and I followed the tutorial for adding the funplug repositories and downloading the package lists.
I have been trying to install mediatomb from the mz:mediatomb-0.12.1-oarm1.txn package.
I was of the belief that mediatomb had no external dependencies but on first run it complained about missing SQL.
I installed mz:sqlite-3071000-oarm-1.txz and ran mediatomb again.
Mediatomb now complains of missing libcurl.
I installed s:curl-7.24.0-oarm-1txz
Now when I run mediatomb i get:-

At this point the process stalls.
However, when I look in .mediatomb I see it has created mediatomb.db which is 0 bytes as expected with file permissions of 0644.
When I kill the session and run mediatomb with -log flag it also stalls.
I have uninstalled and re-installed all these packages over a couple of days with the same result.
I would be really grateful for any pointers as to what is going wrong?
Thanks

You did indeed install 0.7/oarm? That version is deprecated, and I couldn't get mediatomb working on it. Install 0.7/oabi instead.

Oh, right, I missed that.
Thanks for your reply, I'll install 0.7 oabi and report back.

Hmm... I see why I missed it.
It was the Fonz fun_plug I installed using the howto and download links here: http://nas-tweaks.net/371/hdd-installat … s-devices/
The downloads haven't been updated and there is no mention of 0.7/oabi (only oarm for oabi devices).
Is there a way to update this fun_plug without uninstalling and starting again?

Theoretically you can just put the oabi funplug.tgz file on your harddisk, and reboot. The fun_plug script will extract it over your current installation, leaving all added stuff alone. Of course it will overwrite every file you edited from the original installation.
There are some caveats. If the tarballs are not idenitcal, filename-wise, some old stuff will remain. That can have nasty side effects.
I have send Uli a mail about that deprecated link.

Just an update that I did as you suggested and it worked.
When I tried to start ssh it complained about unprotected private keys and wouldn't load them.
I had backed up my original start folder so using telnet I copied the old sshd.sh to the new start folder.
That worked and I was able to log in to an ssh session with putty.
I started mediatomb and it now works without me having to make any changes.
Thanks again for your help!
