Hosting a forum on a DNS-323

Coucou à tous !

First of all, even if it my first post here (btw "Hello to everybody!"), I search for answers on this forum (and elsewere), as deep as I can, but I didn't find an answer.

Here is my question: I'd like to host a test forum on my DNS-323, as well as an FTP server for over administrators that help me managing my forum. For the later, I don't think it's really a problem.

But, about hosting a forum, I didnt find a clue anywhere. Has it been done, yet? Is there a way to host a forum on a DNS-323?

I hope you'll have an answer for me and my buddies.

Best regards,

Benjamin

I guess it can be done. Most (all?) forumsoftware is series of PHP scripts, using an MySQL backend. A webserver, PHP and MySQL are available as FFP packages. Here you can find a list of forum software.

But it will be slow, a DNS-323 isn't very fast, and it doesn't have much memory either.

Coucou Mijzelf,

First of all, thanks a lot for your answer.

I'll have a look at what you're suggesting. I'm confident about finding a acceptable solution. But, I'll have to study as my existing forum is using PHPBB... Something I didn't say before.

By the way, I don't really mind about speed, as it will only be a test forum, used by 3 developpers, just before putting stables versions online on real dedicated servers.

I hope evertything will be OK.

Thanks.
