Repair the on/off switch
Hello everyone,
I'm trying to find where the on/off switch wiring goes on the DNS-323.
I broke the siwtch and tried to replace it. I managed to screw the annular ring on the (+) of the switch while desoldering the broken one.
So i try to find where i need to connect it somewhere else on the board. If anyone can give me a clue, i'll be very happy.

Not sure if it can help but this page has info on how the switch is connected to the GPIO board: http://dns323.kood.org/hardware:gpio
You might want to check also this page: http://dns323.kood.org/hardware:autopoweron where they play around with the connectors to get the DNS323 to power on automatically.

Nah, sorry... I checked on mine, it seems that the electronic board is multi-layered and I do not know where the switch contacts go. When I use a voltmeter on the switch, I notice there is a 120kOhm resistance when the switch is released, and it goes down to 0 when it is pressed; so maybe if you can check the onboard resistors and see if you can find the 120k resistor, then you have a lead to where to solder new connections (provided the switch does not lead straight to the UC...).

Sorry, didn't get the time to tackle that particuliar problem. I manage to get back by data. Putting this old nas all together isn't my top priority now, but i'll do it and post about it one day
