Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Four drive arrays might not fit into D-Link's notion of consumer gear, but then perhaps they do. Has anyone heard anything about a possibility of a 4 drive model?
500GB drives are so cheap now - it would be great to get 1TB of RAID 10 storage from a box like the DNS-323.

Can you use a 3rd HDD on the USB port, and compile RAIS5 code into the kernel? 3 * 500GB on RAID5 is 1TB!
Unsure what the speed hit would be using a 3rd disk via USB....

USB 1.1 on the external port, and I'm not a big fan of either RAID5 or the idea that my hotpluggable drive would be attached via USB.

Based on my tests (http://dns323.kood.org/forum/t556-Dumb- … NS323.html), that USB port is 2.0, and whilst I don't know how D-Link feels about hot-plugging, the SATA connectors were designed for hot-plugging which would make all of your drives hot pluggable, which is not at all uncommon with RAID arrays.
