is there a way to control / set the block size used on the hard drives when the DNS-323 formats itself?
right now, it is using large block sizes of 16384 when formatting some 750GB drives, but this can waste also of space if you have small files.
i can see that there is a mke2fs program, but i cannot remake the filesystem because i use telnet to access the DNS-323 and the telnetd server is mounted on the very device i want to remake the ext2 filesystem with.
can anyone give me a workaround so i can reduce to 4096 or so block size?
thank you

Put the disk into a linux box, reformat it with the block size you want and after that put it back into the DNS-323 and copy
all neccessary things back onto the box ? A little bit of work, but it should do the job.

Anyone tried to create several partitions? Could be useful to have one or more partitions that the firmware ignores (and doesn't touch with recursive chmod, e.g.).
