I've read som of the threads about running a php enabled webserver on the DNS-323. The next step would be to also run a database software so that you could run a more sofisticated website on the unit. mySQL Embedded has the following hardware requirements:
Minimum memory: 1 MB of RAM
Minimum disk-based server: 4 MB of Hard Disk
Default disk-based server: 8 MB of Hard Disk
That makes it imho possiblöe (at least in theory) to run a database on the DNS 323.
Has anyone done some experimentation in this area?

I know this is an old thread but I didn't find any other info. Would mysql or postgresql work on the DNS323? Right now I have fonz's funplug running lightpd and php. I have a few web programs that I would like to run too but they require a database. Thanks
