DNS-323 - Losing connectivity

Hi,

I have the DNS-323 running at a customer of mine, it is connected to a switch with IP 192.168.1.200 (fixed ip), it functions great BUT.

Once every few weeks i cannot reach the shares (or webpage) of the DNS-323 however i CAN ping the device :S

The light are all normal and NO error mail is send from the device.

Getting the power off and on on the device makes it "connectable" again.
Does anybody know what i can do about this?

Greetings,

R

Re: DNS-323 - Losing connectivity

What version firmware and do you have daylight savings time configured?

There is (or used to be) a bug in the daylight savings time routine that would cause the OS to lock up - it's documented in the wiki - I'm not certain if it was fixed, among other reasons, I live in a part of the world that doesn't use DST so I haven't personally experienced it.

BTW - you're not losing connectivity - by definition, being able to ping it shows that you have connectivity.

We have DST here... but how could that cause this problem? DST change is only twice per year, and i have had the problem twice in a month...

Perhaps reading the details might make it clearer - http://dns323.kood.org/information:known_issues
