I'm not sure exactly what happened, but at one point, I was transferring some pictures to the DNS-323. After that, I could no longer see anything on the drive. I restarted the unit, and none of my files exist anymore. Not only that, the interface is asking me for hard drive configuration as if to reformat the drive.
Does anyone know what happend? I'm too afraid right now to pick any options for fear of losing everything if it hasn't already been lost.

What configuration did you have your drives in? Have you tried removing the drive and connecting it to a PC and see if the data is accessible?

I have 2 drives in RAID0 config. Can integrity somehow be checked from a PC?
