Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Well, this is a real nice box with a lot of potential i guess. Yesterday i received the package with the CH3SNAS and two 500GB 3,5" Samsung SpinPoint T166 HD501LJ harddrives. Plugged both harddrives in and after a few minutes my Raid-1 Volume (with name Volume_1) was ready for use. Sadly it is not possible to reaname the Volume Name easyly i guess.
The default IP was NOT 192.168.0.2 but it automatically got an IP from my DHCP server. So You might check Your DHCP clients list to get the address of the NAS.
After playing around with the possiblities i decided to copy all my current data to the CH3SNAS. Even under heavy load the NAS hat no problem receiving and writing the data to the Raid Set. This is the most important expericence for me: The CH3SNAS is really fast compared to my Windows 2000 Server with P3/500.
The iTunes Server seems to work, but i am currently not sure if i will be able to use it. Because its only usable if the automatically rescans the directories automatically. This may be a featurerequest for future firmware updates.
Adding and modifiing users, groups and shares is also not as comfortable as on a windows server. There may also be possibilities for future enhancements, i.e. adding one user to more then one groups, witch makes absolute sense, right?
But overall i am really happy with this device after a few hours :-)

I also got myself the CH3SNAS with only one 500GB 3,5" Samsung SpinPoint T166 HD501LJ hard drive. Installing was very easy and moving my data from the old server was done in no-time.
I installed Fonz' Fun-plug and that to went very easy. Thumps up for Fonz! I don't know exactly what all the components in Fonz' Funplug do but I'm ready to find out!
Currently I have the lighttpd and php running and installed dalbum. All done in no-time, just by following the explanations in this forum! I would really like to have some sort of MySQL database running on my NAS. I understand that it is not possible but who knows…
I’m really satisfied with my device. Very fast and easy to use!

I've got an CH3SNAS too and in the pakage of my NAS, there was a CD with some program for searching the Box You can also set a static IP with this tool and without having access to the webinterface.
