DNS323 resizes files

I have been trying to transfer a file of about 4.5gb over to the DNS323 but when I access the folder once its been transferred its saying the file is only about 368mb.

Whats going on with this?

Information:
Using the latest official firmware with Windows Xp and trying to transfer an ISO file over FTP

Re: DNS323 resizes files

i have also had the problem, that after copying a large file from the main pc to the dns the file size was smaller on the dns, meaning not the complete file was transferred. i think this happened using samba shares and xp. any1 has an idea when this happens? i mean this means a dns is unusable unless u ALWAYS check all your transferred files - who does THAT?

cheers and thanks for more input!

Re: DNS323 resizes files

Yeah, there was that issue with past firmwares and samba, but this is happening to me on the latest firmware and FTP.

I have tried a ISO and RAR and they both do the same thing.

Re: DNS323 resizes files

no they are not. They do not work properly on XBMC or on pc... but here is something weird... opening nautilus and going to smb://192.168.1.100 and right clicking on the files and then selecting properties shows the files as their full size (4.4gb). Going into firefox and going the same address shows them as ~ 377390 KB

Re: DNS323 resizes files

Just a bit more testing.
If i download the file back off the DNS323 then it is the right size. So the DNS is just reporting the wrong size and thus mucking up every program that is trying to read it.

Re: DNS323 resizes files

you could send that issue to DLink for them to replicate (however, they may never respond). but at least its something that needs to be fixed from what i can tell
