Re: can the 323 be presented as an iScsi device?

Theoretically yes - it's a matter of finding (or writing) iSCSI target software that will run on the DNS-323, and I'll be the first to admit, that is easier said than done, at least for me wink .

If you'd like to get some hands on with iSCSI - take a look at Nimbus MySAN - www.nimbusdata.com - for target software that runs on the Windows platform and Microsoft has iSCSI initiator software for the later Windows OS's

yeah, i know MS can do iSCSI, but the SAN/LAN device needs to be an initiator (i think). id love to mount my XP MC with the 323 as iSCSI that way i can transcode files to the XB360

just a thought

The SAN device which physically contains the storage is the target - the initiator is the "client" or host to which the storage will appear to be attached.

anyone here wanna try and create the code which will enable the 323 to be presented as an iSCSI device? this would help a LOT of us Windows XP / Vista MC users smile
