iptables

I'm looking for iptables but couldn't find it in the Downloads section.  I have gentoo installed in /mnt/HD_a2/gentoo and chrooted to it.    I ran "emerge iptables", but after some 15 minutes it failed with the following output.   I was wondering if the kernel in the firmware has ipchains support.

Re: iptables

You haven't configured your network settings or you do not have access to the internet.
First try to ping dns323.kood.org/dsmg600 in your chroot environment, if it fails then setup proper resolv.conf. If you need proxy then setup this one also. e.g export http_proxy=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port and export ftp_proxy=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:port

Re: iptables

Actually my network is working just fine.  I was able to "emerge vim" and many other packages.  Anyway, I downloaded iptables from http://freshmeat.net/projects/iptables and successfully compiled it after commenting out the IPV6 stuff in Makefile by changing IPV6:=1 to 0.   Unfortunately, iptables is looking for related modules to be loaded which are not available on my box.  Looks like it poke around /lib/modules/<version>/...

If we could get iptables to function we can turn DSM-G600 into a gateway.   Currently, I have to use the WRT54G with dd-wrt23SP2 firmware.

Thanks,
Quang
