Can not copy a file from Mac OSX - file name to long???

Hi All,

I searched around and could not seem to find an answer.

Running Mac osx, When I copy a file I get this message:

You cannot copy the item “Dayton.approject” because the name is too long or includes characters that the disk cannot display.

Anyone know a work around - or do I have a 3 pound boat anchor (for a small boat) - My house is full of mac's

Thanks in advance
Bob Ross

I would fire up a terminal window and check whats in the bundle.

I.e.

find Daytona.approject

I bet there is a lot of nested folders with files.

Oh Yes - That's Apple's Aperture format to move an entire project from place to place.  It is a gig in size.

So you need to examine the bundle to find what is causing this error message.

Good luck

I found on this site - info about "Netatalk" - looks like a way to get AFP running on the DNS-323.

Anyone know what the file naming differences between SMB and AFP??

Thanks
Bob
