Hi there! That's my configuration:
AMD X2 6000+
Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6
2x1Gb Crucial Ballistix PC6400
Vista Home Professional 32bit
Netgear modem/router DG834PN latest firmware
DNS-323 v1.04 beta 58 firmware + 2x750Gb Seagate 7200.10 raid 0
The NAS in linked directly to the PC via the GigaLan port with a cross cable, the other LAN port is for the router. I've placed eMule plus' 'Temp' and 'Incoming' folders on the NAS, nothing else.
In normal usage (which means eMule Plus active and no other application accessing the NAS) everything works fine, but if I try to burn an ISO from the NAS, or unzip a big file, or just copy a huge file from the NAS to he desktop, eMule freezes (the classic ghosted-Vista style window) or at least becames very very slow to mouse inputs. But he most strange thing is that at the same moment the upload and download values fall down!! I monitor the internet connection with BWMeter and I can see it just with my eyes... first the upload falls to the minimum, than the download makes ups and downs continuously until the operation (burn, copy or whatelse) finishes.
I don't know how to benchmark the NAS performance, but Vista copy window (for what it may be proof) says the transfer rate reaches 7-8Mb/s in the best case... sounds a little too low, doesn'it it?
I don't really know much about net configurations, maybe I've set something strange in the TCP/IP connection parameteres (but it seems to me I've just put the IP static address...). Or may be the net controller of the mobo that can't afford to manage all that traffic?
Hope some one may help me, and I beg your pardon in advance for my poor english! :-)
Ciao!
Baio
