After changing the port number in mldonkey, i get this:
/ # /mnt/HD_a2/lnx_bin/mlnet

I tried changing the port back, editing donkey.ini , and I tried removing everything mldonkey related, though I probably missed some config somewhere or something.
Removed:
/mnt/HD_a2/mlnet.sh
/mnt/HD_a2/lnx_bin/mlnet
/mnt/HD_a2/mldonkey
/.mldonkey
Then reinstalled mldonkey (Shadowandys 2.9.2 graphical package) Same problem still.
Did I miss something to uninstall completely?
Any other ideas what could be the problem?
Are there files on ram partition I should delete? Free space looks like this:
/ # df
Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/ram0 9911 6934 2465 74% /
/dev/sda2 480197164 50489068 429708096 11% /mnt/HD_a2
/dev/sdb2 480197164 252096 479945068 0% /mnt/HD_b2
/ #
Should I reset the box?
Input appreciated.

Have you got your MLDONKEY_DIR and TMPDIR environment variables set?

Thanks for replying.
I donīknow about the variables. Iīm a Linux newbie/cheater. Where do I set them?
It worked fine before I changed the port though.
Another thing: Originally the port was 4662, I changed to 4776 to see if it was a throttled down port at my ISP that caused a lowid in mldonkey, BUT when I reinstalled mldonkey the port setting in donkey.ini was 10049.
Clueless....

OK, figured how to set variables. Now it works. Thank you!
Why would it start using /.mldonkey as a working directory all of a sudden though? Curious...

mlnet by default runs off /.mldonkey that is why there is a mlnet.sh file to set the environment variables.

OK, thanks.
But when I run mlnet.sh it tries to change working dir to /.mlnet
?
