We do not completely understand the problems being reported in your email. The Passive FTP feature should be enabled. Do you the same problems with Windows Explorer as with the CuteFTP? I would suggest contacting our Corporate support line for help with the product. They are available Monday to Friday, 9AM to 9PM EST.

Should you require further assistance with your D-Link products, please reply to this message, or call toll free at English retail 800-361-5265, French retail 877-354-6559, Business Class 877-354-6560.  Thank you for networking with D-Link.

Everything was working good now I cannot access my DNS-323 and get the
below message.  I reformatted the drive and reloaded everything (2 days)
thinking the files corrupt but no avail. I have restored it to factory
default and started all over still no luck.  What do I need to do to get
everything back?

150: Open ASCII mode data connection for directoryu listing

Re: Typical Dlink responses about their DNS-323 products

Hmmm ... this sounds like a problem that I had some months ago. I gave up with CuteFTP as an FTP client (because of the same error) and used FTP Commander instead. The FTP Commander client works quite well with the DNS323.

I had other problems with CuteFTP and the DNS323 as well, like "losing all the directory contents". I isolated this to the CuteFTP client, not the DNS, as I could still see the directory entries with a standard drive map, or native FTP into the 323.

Lets just say - I figured CuteFTP and the DNS323 were not compatible.

I'm not sure why ppl put so much trust in shareware - try asking Cute why they get the time-out !!!
