Hello everyone,
I recently purchased the DNS-323 to use as a backup drive for a SBS2003 machine.
The previous backup solution used Vertias Backup Exec with a DDS4 Tape drive, the DNS-323 is to replace the Tape the drive and become a "Backup-To-Disk" folder for Backup Exec.
I'm having a few problems though, I am unable to add the DNS-323 drive to my list of "BAckup to Disk Folders" on Veritas.
If i add the mapped drive i get the following error:
The system cannot find the path specified.
If i add the drive using "\\DNS323\Backup" i reciefe this error:
Unable to create new backup folder. Access Denied.
I am able to browse the mapped drive and add folders / create documents etc etc just fine with out any issues.
I have read these forms and noticed some people saying they have had success with using DNS-323 w/ Backup Exec.
Any help is greately apprecaited!
Thank you

*FIXED*
Realized I needed to have an account on the DNS-323 that had the same id & pwd as the account which runs the Backup Exec Services.
Didn't figure this out before as my Backup Exec runs off the Administrator account of my SBS2003, whose password is 18 characters in length.
Our much loved programmers at D-Link have a limit on the DNS-323 of 8 characters for a password.
So I changed over the Backup Exec service account to new user w/ administrative rights and recreated the credentials on the DNS-323 and voila
