Can this thing be an LDAP server?

Wondering if I can run an LDAP server on my DNS-323.

Not for access control... actually I want to use it as a shared source of address book information for Outlook.  (Reason: Outlook PST containing contact folder(s) can't be shared by multiple PC's at once.  However, Outlook can connect to an LDAP server as a source of contact information)

Would the slapd (openLDAP server) be something where I could just throw a line in my fun_plug to fire it up?  Or is that asking too much of this little box?

Re: Can this thing be an LDAP server?

I am running an LDAP server on a DNS 323, in a chrooted Debian environment.  This is a pretty generic LDAP implementation.  I'm still futzing with it;  when I get it stable I will post an article.

Re: Can this thing be an LDAP server?

An LDAP server as a shared address book is exactly what I'm looking for as well, for a small (3 person) office environment.  I was looking at the newer QNAP and other NAS offerings, and while faster, they don't offer this either, so we'll go with the less expensive DLink for now, but a shared address book hosted on the NAS would be great.
