I just received my DNS-323 and followed all the instructions and everything went perfectly well until I tried to map the drive. I am running RAID1. When I use the Easy Search utility I see the device and drive but when I try to map the drive I get prompted for a username and password. I don't have any users identified, and I've tried entering admin but each time I get an error message "Failed to map drive." Everything else seems to work fine. Any ideas what's wrong?

Which OS are you using? I reminds me of the problems I had with Vista Home Professional 32bit...
How is the NAS connected to the pc? Do you use a direct link or do you use a router?

I am using XP SP2 and am connecting through a Linksys router. Some time late last night, after making 100 attempts and various configuration changes I was able to mount the drive. Now I tried to map the drive using my laptop through the wireless router and have the same problem as I had on the desktop unit. The laptop runs Vista. I made so many changes, I have no idea what ultimately might have cause it to start working.
P.S. don't waste your time calling D-Link support, they are worthless, which is exactly what I paid for it.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Unfortunately I've already experienced the D-Link support quality...
By the way, I had several problems under Vista untill I managed to make it see the NAS (direct link to the pc with crossed cable, static IP's), but I saw a great improvement when upgrading to the latest beta bios. You may try to upgrade it by the XP-based pc and see if it helps under Vista.

Thanks for the feedback. Where can I find the latest FM? Since its a beta is it stable or should I be wary? Also, does it require a reformat of the hard drive, because I just moved 100 GB over the to DNS-323 and it was quite a process.

You can find the firmware in this thread: New DNS-323 Firmware V1.04B63 with release 11/27/2007 It's just a few thread down the list.
In one of the last pages there is a guy who has uploaded it to RapidShare, you can grab and use it safely, I've just made the upgrade a few minutes ago and works great, no array rebuild or disk erasing is needed (and I have over 500Gb on the DNS!!).
The improved compatibility with Vista was already implemented in some prior release, so you can safely use the last one avaliable.
Make us know if this helps!
