WAN share?

I just purchased a DNS-323 and has turned out to be a great unit.  My question - can I setup a mapped drive for the DNS-323 for when I am working remotely?

Re: WAN share?

hmmm, this is an interesting question, yes you can but this means you have to open several TCP/UDP ports on your internert modem at home. this will also cause a security risk because other people can also access these shares the same way and maybe other computers on your network.

I'm currently looking for a VPN deamon which can be installed on the box so I will be able to first connect trough a secured vpn tunnel and that access my files.

Can your router act as a VPN endpoint - that would make life so much simpler.

Re: WAN share?

You could make your router (if it isnt already) into a VPN using WRT software if you have certain routers which I do not.  I was hoping that there was sometype of vpn daemon for the 323.  That would be really great!
