Been thinking about buying myself a music streaming device like Logitechs Squeezebox or the pinnacle soundbridge.
Problem with the squeezebox is that it needs the slimserver installed, which the dns 323 doesnt support at the moment.
Anybody have any experience with a good music streaming device?? Pros? Cons?
thanks

is use the philips sla5520
pro: quick easy installation, nice big display, good sound, very good internet radiostation, streams without problems from NAS, cheap (check ebay etc)
con: only wireless connection (but accepts WPA)

Im running a soundbridge since 2 weeks ago. I had to update the iTunes server (followed the guide here and the precompiled server). The built in server could not handle my 40GB collection (but ive heard it works good with smaller collections).
Only problem is a multicast issue when running wireless (nothing to do with soundbridge it self).
As what i understand, the mediaserver (firefly on dns-323) sends out a multicast packet after 60mins telling all UPnP devices that the server is still active. But with the general problem running multicast over wireless (D-Link DIR-655) does not deliver the packets to the soundbridge. So after 60min the soundbridge does not think it's connected to a server (it will continue to play the que forever anyway) but when trying to browsing it says server is unavaible - and i have to restart soundbridge again. So be aware of this if you plan to go wireless.

Shameless bump in order to get some more user reviews ;-p
marca, happy with the siundbridge? How is the sound? Is there an inbuilt speaker in the soundbridge? (would like to have one in the kitchen)

I'm running a Soundbridge connected to my living room stereo, and it works great. I'm not using a DNS-323 for storage (yet), instead I'm running a Linux Debian install on a mini-ITX-based setup with a UPnP-server.
The Soundbridge is a UPnP-client with no inbuilt speaker, so you'll have to find a solution to this if you want it in your kitchen. It's still a great device, though - I love having complete access to my entire music collection without any hassle at all.

I use a PS3 to stream divx/xvid video files via mediatomb and [currently until I have time to figure out why mediatomb doesn't like all my mp3s] twonky to stream about 100GB of mp3s... works very well for me and you can play games also if that's what you're in to.

for the kitchen try the freecom musicpal, works perfectly and the sound is quite good (for in the kitchen, don't try to fill your livingroom with music).
