Default Volume Name - Can it be changed?

Hey people.

I have 2 * DNS-323 with 2 * 500GB Seagate Drives in each one.

They are both formatted at 1 Linear Partition and have the same name on each - Volume_1

The 2 names for the different DNS-323's are TweedleDee and TweedleDum.

Is it possible to change the names of the default volumes from Volume_1 to say TweedleDee and TweedleDum?

When I have both partitions on the desktop, they both show up as Volume_1.

I would like it to be something else and the actual name of the DNS-323 seems as good as anything?

So, is it possible? And if it is, how??

Re: Default Volume Name - Can it be changed?

Have you tried finding the conf file of the Samba server, that is where the volume names are specified.

This post discusses it in detail for Standard mode.

Your custom version needs to be recreated by fun plug each reboot.

Looks pretty cool but not sure how Samba needs to be configured for 1 Linear partition.  You might need to read up on Samba and possibly Raid0.  Am sure it can be done.

One word of caution - two (2) physical disks configured as one (i) linear volume has to be either RAID0 or JBOD - regardless of which one you chose, failure of either disk will result in the loss of your data.
