FS: 2x DNS-323 units, with or without disks (UK)

Following another late night trying (and failing) to get my DNS-323 boxen working properly with my Macs, I've decided to cut my losses and sell my units to someone more deserving.

With that in mind, I have 2x DNS-323 for sale with or without 2x 500gb Hitachi Deskstar disks (fully working), firmware 1.03, power supply, electronic copy of manual etc. Basically everything the units came with aside from the box (damaged in transit). The units are fully working and ripe for hacking, though I don't have the time and inclination to learn what's what to get the most out of them. The unit(s) will be supplied in factory restored state, minus the data etc.

I'm looking for 125GBP plus carriage for the bare box (no drives) and 225GBP plus carriage to include the 2x 500gb drives. Happy to supply valid VAT receipt if this is a business purchase.

Please let me know if you're interested - my forum username at gmail.com. Thanks smile

gaekwad - Are you considering purchasing a different vendor's NAS device?
If so, which one?

Netgear ReadyNAS RND-4000 - I know they're a lot more expensive, but the 5 year warranty is good for me, and I have heard generally good things about them. I won't be using the backup software (which isn't so good, apparently), and the power usage is also quite good (an important factor for me).

I use my DNS-323 with several macs and windows boxes and it works fine. I use the builtin samba.

gaekwad - I just heard, Netgear announced (at CES 2008 I think)
a new two disk device in the ReadyNAS line.  It's call the RND2150 - ReadyNAS Duo
http://www.netgear.com/Products/Storage/ReadyNASDuo  This might be a
lower cost alternative to the RND-400 if you can wait till it's available (Q1 2008)
and you don't need the 4 disk capacity, RAID5 available on the RDN-4000.
