I have set up the DNS-323 for Windows network access and FTP access. Both initially work OK but if I edit a word document via direct network access, it is then not longer accessable via FTP. The files permissions, as seen by FTP client, have change from 777 to 700. The FTP client sees the file but is unable to download it. The file is still fully accessable via direct network. I access it with Start/Run/ "DNS IP Address". I guess this is a conflict between the Windows NTFS and DNS EXT2 file system.
I have not see this problem mention anywhere else in the forum. Has anyone please got a solution.
Update: Notepad .txt files are OK. I can repeatedly edit them by either direct network or FTP. The problem files are Microsoft format: Word and Exec.

Hi!
I tested to put a new word file on the harddrive via direct network access and got the exactly same problem. I can΄t access it or open it via ftp.
I the looked at the files permission on my word file and it was almost only read permission. It seems like the ftp server has a bug.

What is the firmware version your are using? Do you allow guest access to you data?

Hi Mig!
Thanks for your answer, they seems too have the exactly same problem. I΄m using the lastest update from D-link 1.03 and I allow guest to access the via direct network access but not via FTP.
Kindly regards, Mikael
