Re: DNS-323 & PS3

i take it your movies are not located within the root of your media? or on a different path? if its on a different path than the one defined within the 323, then its unachievable at this moment

Re: DNS-323 & PS3

The new beta firmware works to stream media (music, vids, pics) to the ps3 using UPnP (not itunes server).

You can get the new beta firmware through this thread

Re: DNS-323 & PS3

HI...

In my case, I installed TwonkyMedia.   Just follow the directions that you get from this URL:

http://boardsus.playstation.com/playsta … amp;page=1

I could't see any movie with the iTunes Server that is installed by default. I think it just for streaming music.   With TwonkyMedia, my PS3 can gain access to any media located on the DNS-323.  The TwonkyMedia already has its own directory structure, but you can changed the settings.

DNS-323 Firmware = 1.03
PlayStation 3 Firmware = 2.1
WiFi = 11g

Regards!

Amunoz_tico: What version of Twonky are you using? I tried with the most recent one and couldn't see xvid or divx on the PS3. I'm currently using Twonky for my music and mediatomb (available in this forum) for xvid/divx.

Re: DNS-323 & PS3

Hi there,

Can I stream/play all media through a DNS323 to a PS3 (with twonky or mediatomb) - including ISO files?  Also is there any particular model PS3 that is needed (60gb or 40gb).

Cheers
Chumby.

Re: DNS-323 & PS3

wOw just just revived an old thread.. lol

You dont need a specific PS3. Just make sure you have the latest PS3 Firmware installed and a good working uPnP server... The default uPnP server installed in the 323 s all kinds of broken...
By the way iTunes in the 323 will only stream Music not videos.

Re: DNS-323 & PS3

Hey,
I have struggled time again with this to the point of giving up because it is not that important to me, BUT when I had 1.4 FW Twonky was a terrific choice. (currently 1.5FW, 60 gig PS3)
I highly recommend it.

I have tried mediatomb with FFP 0.5, but with 130 gig music it just sat all night trying to add the folder to its own watch list. I would look at that as well, I probably didn't give it a good enough go, because it did look promising.

I didn't pay for Twonky, I believe it has a 30 day trial then shuts off. I believe if you restart the DNS it starts the 30 days again. I just didn't need to stream that badly, and found the whole paylist thing a PIA, and prefered other IPOD options through my amp.

I don't think the DNS streams well, if I can work Twonky and potentially mediatomb with my noob like status it wil be a sinch for you guys! seriously. I don't however know about ISO's.
