Yes, I believe Twonky supports ARM.  I'm looking to install it, but just haven't gotten around to trying to.

I remember reading somewhere that it usees 0.9.26 also... but then like you, I noticed 0.9.28 in the toolchain..
Do you remember where you saw that it was 0.9.26? 

Even the /lib directory on the device itself seems to suggest its 0.9.28..

Are we sure it doesn't work?  I got the little edian version to run at least.

First obstacle was 'dirname' wasn't found when running the startup script.
busybox3 has dirname compiled in, so just create a symlink

I don't know how to test this, but it appears to work.
The file I used was twonkymedia-armel-uclibc-0.9.28.zip, downloaded from the link in the post a few posts above this one.

Edit:
I was able to bring up the webpage, http://192.168.254.5:9000/setup.htm
It's scanning my music now.

Sorry, I've never used Twonky before but I was curious... guess I'll have to figure out what this is now! 

'ps' shows the twonky processes doing things... fun fun.

It is indeed working, and playing right now on my PC!
Unfortunately the TMS is fully compatible only with IE, for Firefox look for a modified .js playback script on the twonky forum, which also improves IE playback.

I am a bit concerned about the various instances of twonky media server running in memory, this is how it looks on a proper system (FC5):

I'm looking for a NAS solution that I can use as a media server with the xbox 360.
I really like the DNS-323 but before buying I'd like to know if TMS can be run successfully.

Any chance someone can add what they have done so far to the wiki?

I downloaded and installed Twonkymedia trial and so far it works much better than the D-Link UPnP AV server.  All you need to do is fun_plug your box for telnet and run the NAS installer supplied with the Twonkymedia download package.  I had it running in less than 10 minutes and no problems so far.

I use a D-Link DSM-320 media player with a wired ethernet connection.  Using Twonkymedia, music playlists actually work and video streams play much better.  The D-Link UPnP AV server would not recognize any of my .m3u playlists or would not play video streams without multiple skips and pauses.

If all goes well, I'll pay for a licensed version after my 30-day trial is up.

Has anyone else tried this yet or run into any problems?

Hi - have installed Twonky using NASSetup.exe - all completed ok

However when i try to access the config page (http://xxx.xxx.x.x:9000/configpage/index.html) i get Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.

How do i confirm Twonky is running and how do i get to the config page?

TwonkyMedia works great with the PS3 on FW1.8

It has no problems finding all my music, and photos, and videos. (Limitations with PS3 FW1.8 allow only MPEG2 videos to stream over the network)

Had no problems installing mine, and appears on the default "http://192.168.1.110:9000/configpage/index.html" from my main PC.

I have recently tried install the fan_speed fun plugs elsewhere in thsi wiki, with a custom plug, upon a reboot of the 323 both telnet and Twonky stopped working.

If you have a custom Fan_Speed plug, disable for now and see if Twonky will work, trusting a fix will be discovered by someone a lot more clever than me.

On installing, all that was requested was the IP address of the DNS-323, from then it installed.

There is now a folder called "twonky" in the root directory of my first drive, and it has added a "starttwonky.sh" script.

As there not there, maybe best asking twonky for help.

I know you've tried many times, but just being obvious, i expect you put in the correct IP address for your DNS-323 when asked during installation.

I didn't need any username or password.

Final guess : Check the DNS-323 setup, and ensure that 'network access' is permitted for the root directory to "All accounts" and "Read/Write" access
