Hi,
I recently decided to change from a Raid setup to independent disks, - mainly to take advantage of the disk to disk backup facility. (I'm not worried about the stored data).
The firmware is 1.06 and, through the web interface, used the facility to change the disks. The progress bar stalled at 94% for 6 hours, (the disks are only 160GB). After 24 hours, (still at 94%), I dubiously powered off.
Now, I can access the web interface fine, but cannot access the drives, there is a 'Volume_1' displayed, but I cannot connect to it.
Could anyone advise what my next steps should be?
Many thanks,
Colin

Hi,
Thanks; All entries on that page are 'greyed out', so I can't get to the format option for some reason!
I've tried pulling both drives and just installing one at a time, however no matter which drive I have in - or which slot the drive is in - I get the same (non) options.
I guess I will try another system reset and run through it all again.

If you want to format them then pull the drives (and make sure to reinsert them (later) back into the same bay that you pulled them from) and use a partitioning program like fdisk (dos/windows) to delete the partition from each drive. fdisk calls the partition a non-dos partition. Other software may label it/them as linux or ext2 partitions. Put them (the drives) back in and fire up the box and see if that brings back the formatting options in the web interface. The reason that you may be having the problem (I am guessing) is that the 323 stores the drive serial numbers in flash so it already 'knows' the drives. Deleting the partitions has always got me through these kind of problems though. There are lots of posts on the 94% problem - if you do a search you will find plenty of suggestions.

Good afternoon,
That worked just fine!
Installed each drive on a Windows box and used fdisk, re-inserted and now OK.
Many thanks for the help,
