According to the documentation this will take any capacity SATA drive, but I noticed that in the release notes for one of the firmwares they increased the drive capacity limit to 750GB. Will I be able to use two 1TB drives in it?
Specifically, I'm thinking of Seagate, model ST3100005N1A1AS

I am using 2 x ST31000340AS in RAID1 configuration, firmware 1.05, funplug 0.5. So far no issues,.
BTW, I confirmed with D-Link before I bought it to make sure it supports 1 TB.

for Asia, the box states that it supports 2TB and above
personally im using 2 x 1TB without any issues too

i use 2 1TB harddrives from WD. The Greenpower ones. Very quiet and they use 4-5 watts less than other 1TB discs.

firmware 1.04 supports 2 x 1TB (actually can support higher, but 1TB was the biggest hdd at that moment)

Does anyone using 2 x seagate 1TB in their RAID 1 experience some rattling or vibration when writing data to the harddisk?

I have WDs, but the only time I get rattling is if I don't make sure the drives are fully down on the rails after they are inserted. If you are not careful, they can get stuck on a "shelf" inside. If you gently push to the left and down while pushing in on the drive, they will seat. Conversely, if you push up and to the right, you will feel them catch on the "shelf" (you can do both of these things with fully iserted drives).

I have 2x dns323 both with 1TB Seagate AS series in RAID1 (fw SD-15) and had issues installing them. Formatting stopped at 94% plus I had screwed partition tables on the disks.
It is all working now but I had to do some serious hacking.
Seagate AS series tend to run hot so you should consider modding the case for better cooling- it took me half an hour on each- drilling extra holes, improving the fan performance and silencing the box.

No no rattling or vibration, I didn't have 94% format problem either and have been using 2x1tb in raid1 setup fine for a few weeks.

If you have vibration and rattling, it could be the installation. Try pushing the drives down and to either the right or left (I can't remember right now, I am not near the DNS). My seagate drives can catch on a "shelf" made up from the drive and the internals of the DNS. This does not allow it to sit properly on the support rails in the unit. By moving the drive to the right or left, it will drop down into the proper position and the rattling noise stops. I had this problem only with my 2 seagate drives.
