Please help. I'm getting this message. I'm out of idea. I tried everything possible no luck. My firmware is 1.07. I also tried 1.06. I used easy_search_utility 4.4.0.0.
I have Seagate Barracuda 2 x 1.5TB in the bay. I got them from newegg both drives are fine because I tested after it failed to format them for the first time. I also tested with just one 1.5TB in the bay. It works without any problem. So, I tried with 2 x 1.5TB I got this msg again... I format it with individual drives mode
when I restart it I see this page...
I tried so many times. I even swap the discs left and right to test it. nothing is working for me.
Maybe it's defective unit? Please Help ![]()

assuming that there is no data on the drives .....
pull the drives (from a powered down dns323) and insert them into a desktop. Run something like fdisk and delete all partitions from the 2 drives (make sure you don't delete your desktop drive partition :-) ). Reset the dns323 (power on while pressing the pinhole button in the back) (see the wiki). Power off, reinsert the drives, power on and see if that clears your problem.

Hi unbeatable,
I just bought a seagate 1TB hdd (ST31000333AS) and encountered the same issue as you. My DNS-323 is running FW 1.06. I tried upgrade to FW 1.07 and hit the same problem as well.
Still unable to determine what is the root cause at this moment.
Sigh.
