Unfortunately no one can be told what fun_plug is - you have to see it for yourself.

Fun_Plug and nfpvr installation Help

I'm a total a newbee on this topic and Linux.

But I've been reading up on being able to hack the DNS-321.  I was successful installing the Fun_Plug.  But couldn't follow how to do the telnet section to set a password work etc...

What I am trying to do is install a linux complied nfusion.exe file, which emulates the IPPVR windows software on linux.  By installing this on my NAS (DNS-321) I will no longer need to leave my PC on as a server for the files I record to my PC.

Can anyone help walk me through installing the nfusion.exe file on my DNS-321 and to allow the file to boot up automatically?

I use a windows xp PC and I have install putty.exe and installed the Fun_Plug on my DNS-321, but didn't understand how to do the password or telnet etc...

Any advice?

Regards,

Not a problem..but it doesn't say anything how to create a auto boot for a file.  Any suggestions?

Re: Fun_Plug and nfpvr installation Help

the fun_plug file in the root of volume_1 is automatically run on reboot.  Or, ff you have ffp installed then any file in the /ffp/start directory is run providing its permissions are execute.  ttI have assumed when you say that you have installed the fun_plug you mean ffp.  Is this correct?  I haven't checked - is the software that you want to run already compiled for the 323 ?

Re: Fun_Plug and nfpvr installation Help

Yes, I placed the ffp in the root directory and rebooted the DNS323 and it install the ffp.  The program/file that was attached nfusion.exe, I was told it was complied for linux.  Not sure if it was complied for the 323.

Re: Fun_Plug and nfpvr installation Help

Sorry for that.  I attached the actual file that needs to be compiled... which I am clueless on how to do that.  Second, I can't figure out how to create a auto boot script nor can I figure out how to copy a script or copy the compiled file to where they need to go.

Any advice would be very helpful.

Regards
