exposing your nas to the internet is a security risk. You need to be fully aware of the implications. You will need to forward a port on your router to allow access to the nas - you need to punch a hole in the firewall. I suggest that you look at openvpn - search this forum, it will allow you to tunnel a private encrypted network connection to your nas through the internet.
