I just bought a dns323 and it came with firmware 1.07. Stupidly of me i bought 2 2TB EARS drives before reading about their problems. Anyway, I decided to try sticking them in see if they would work. They both formatted fine and I haven't had any problems so far. I then decided to upgrade to firmware 1.09 and noticed that 2TB support wasn't implemented yet in 1.07. So now my questions:
1 How was i able to use these drives with firmware 1.07?
2 when i mount one in windows it says the drive size is 1.78TB. the web interface appears to know the correct drive size... Does anyone with 2TB drives have larger capacities listed in windows?
3 If everything seems to be working fine with these EARS drives, do I need to worry about going through the special formatting procedure I,ve seen on the website?
Thank you for any input you can give

I'd like an answer to those questions too... is a guru about?
How'd the update from v1.07 to v1.09 go? Can I assume you also have H/W Ver.: C1?
Ah... do you mean an EADS drive? Is it like my WD green 2TB SATA drive?
My v1.07 C1 also formatted it EXT2 without incident.

The update appears to have worked properly.. I will have to check later to see which revision I have. I bought it from NCIX 1week ago. I did not get the EADS drive. Mine is a EARS drive with 4k sectors which is what worried me.
If you mount the network drive in windows, what size does it say that it is?
thanks!
