This may have been asked before, but I'll put it in my own terms.
Right now I currently have 2x1 TB drives in my DNS323. I broke the array and put in just a single 2 TB hard drive and copies the data from one of the 1 TB drives to the 2 TB and took out the 1 TB so only the 2 is left in. I have another 2 TB that I wanted to RAID 1 with the existing drive, but something screwed up and I lost data on both. I still have the one half of the 1 TB RAID1 array which contains my data. If I put it in the DNS323, I can read the data and it works great. What I'm wanting to know is how can I create a RAID1 array of the 2 2TB drives and be able to get my data on there. I could just hook up the drive with the data to a laptop and recover it, but that's a major PITA and slow and would mess up my folder heirarchy. Any methods on doing this? Thanks.

It looks like there is a nice discussion of this very question:

There are a couple of different options ...
1 - Place both 2TB drives in the DNS-323, create a RAID1 array, hook the 1TB drive to a computer and transfer the data across the network.
2 - Place both 2TB drives in the DNS-323, create a RAID1 array, hook the 1TB drive to the USB port and transfer the data to the array.
3 - Format one 2TB drive as a standard volume, place the 1TB drive in the DNS-323 and use a computer to transfer the data from Volume_1 to Volume_2, and then remove the 1TB drive and add the second 2TB drive and create the array.
