deleting folders
having a few old fun_plug.d folders I renamed but was not able to delete. giving me permission errors.
what is the easiest way to get rid off these? tnx

rm -r fun_plug.old
was the command I was looking for. this removed my folders just fine
is it possible to hide fun_plug file and fun_plug.d folders so they do not appear when browsing the DNS?

maybe. you could try to rename it to ".fun_plug.d" (leading dot), but make sure you change everything that depends on it...

Interesting...I was going to ask the same thing. So there isn't a "hidden" attribute that you can set in a telnet session to hide a folder in the Windows Explorer?

Yes I remember the dot from school days, but I also knew that it would make it not work. Just wanted to hear if there were any alternatives but there isn't.
Would be nice if the server didn't send the file and folder in the list to the client unless admin was logged in. Oh well I'm just glad my fan is stopped now

You can still change the samba exports and not export the root of Volume_1 (but some subdirectories).
