Hi,
I would like to run the pptp-linux (VPN) client from within the debian chroot (squueze) enviroment (by dhub).
I have a working setup on a xbmc box (ubuntu based), and have pulled the config files from that.
I tested these, under the full "reloaded debian" on my Nas, and after having installed pptp-linux (apt-get install pptp-linux),
they work fine, and I can connect to the VPN server.
I then installed pptp-linux under the debian chroot (I want to retain the alt-f functionality), and copied the config files as before (under reloaded debian), except now when I try to connect to the server I get an error.
I normally connect with;
"pon MyVpnProvider"
The error I get is
Couldn't open the /dev/ppp device: No such file or directory
/usr/sbin/pppd: You need to create the /dev/ppp device node by
executing the following command as root:
mknod /dev/ppp c 108 0
If I run the mknod command as suggested the error changes to;
Couldn't open the /dev/ppp device: No such device or address
/usr/sbin/pppd: Please load the ppp_generic kernel module.
Obviously, something is going awry, probably due to the chroot.
Unfortunately it's beyond me, on how to fix it...
Some help would be greatly appreciated...

Alt-F does not has the ppp_generic kernel module.
Please open a new topic in the Alt-F discussion group and request for it.
When a sufficiently large number of kernel modules justify it, I will create a "kernel modules" package (so give the topic a meaningful name, such as "Request for kernel module")
Sorry
