Has anyone been able to adjust the fan thermostat (mainly C1 related)?

Taken from the Dlink Beta Forum, can anyone help or answer if this is possible, 43 Degress before the fans start is too high?

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=38050.0

My unit is a C1 with latest beta 1.10 firmware, while in standby, over 4 days without any use the fan has not kicked in once and to me its kinda warmer then it should be, a lot warmer than any other standby device.  Since upgrading to 1.10 I have never seen the fan come on, even when in constant use and when the drives get very warm.

I'd appreciate any help to control this, or even if I can trick the thermostat (maybe hardware rather than software)  into thinking its hotter than is so the fan kick in at say 34 deg

Update> I found the below in these forums, but wondered which one I should use and would it work on C1?

Re: Has anyone been able to adjust the fan thermostat (mainly C1 related)?

in the paper there are no hints that a lower (<40°) temperatur is better for harddrives. the graphs show that and the text also clearly states it:

... We can conclude
that at moderate temperature ranges it is likely that there
are other effects which affect failure rates much more
strongly than temperatures do.
