Well, the new firmware came out on the 18th and it supports divx..or it's supposed to (i haven't gotten it to work with the pc based media servers i've tried). Anyone had any success with the PS3 Firmware 2.10 and DNS-323 1.04b63 and divx?
Offline
It does work.
The firmware is the only way to have DiVx streamed to the PS3 with firmware 2.10.
There are small issues however.
Only one directory can be shared adding multiple roots is not possible from the GUI.
It may be using vi ....
I did not look into it.
Streaming seems to work very well, no drops.
Twonky does work with recent version 4.4.3.1.
XBox 360 streaming does not work with this firmware.
Do you know how to add multiple roots?
Good luck

So were exactly are people downlaoding the 1.04b63 firmware from? I've tried the links above and browsing (via ftp) the US and EMEA D-Link support sites but I can find nothing more recent than 1.03b41.
As Santa kindly brought me a PS3 for Christmas then I'd really love to be able to stream audio / movies and view the pictures I have stored on my DNS-323.
Adv-THANKS-ance

Can anybody upload 1.04b63 to Rapidshare? Would you please?
Offline
I tried the http://www.dl-support.de/forum/downloads.php?cat=85
even registered, it all appears there, also comments on the site is impressive, certainly want that firmware, but it says (google translation) that there is not enough traffic points. (it saiys that my username is registered and logged in), it won't allow a click and lights on the left are red
I can't post on their site as I can't post in German.......yet.
Is there another option?
Cheers, any help appreciated

Sorry, got it sorted, it wont allow a download when translating through Google......

Here's hope it works for streaming as for others

Just out of curiosity - if I uploaded a file called - let's say "NAS202B_DLINKEu_DNS323.1.04b71_1.30.0104.2008_.zip" - would you download that and try to flash it to your DNS-323 also?

I would be willing to do this tomorrow, i have to copy everything off to my computer raided drives. What are the new features?
If this is in response to my post immediately above - I think I've proved my point.
It has one feature - it will brick your DNS-323 - or at least it would if I were actually going to follow through with the scenario.
What was my point?
Simple - I am curious as to just how security concious folks are - downloading software (operating system, drivers, firmware or application) from an unknown source is a risk - it may be compromised in some way.
Firmware can be especially dangerous - the others can be fixed with a scratch install - but a bad firmware flash has the potential to cause irrepairable hardware damage

I've dowloaded it and calculated the hash with WinHex (checksum 64bit): 003A064E9D
Is it the same as yours?
Last question: after you updated the firmware to new version, did it save all your data or you lost them? I've 500Gb of data I don't want lo loose them...
Ciao!

Please - firmware from an unknown source
If it comes from D-Link you have a right to expect it to work - if it comes from a trusted source, then you trust it will work - but when you have no idea where it's coming from, or how it got there - that is a different matter altogether.

Guess what, i found 104b82 on RS.
http://rapidshare.com/files/81581093/NA … _.rar.html
Relesenotes in txt file (i guess "12/14/2007" is 1.04b63, and "12/28/2007" is for 1.04b82:
12/14/2007
1.DDNS -> Timeout value can not be changed from 576. If a user's ip resets every 48 hrs they can not tell DDNS to update every 48 hours because it is locked at 576 and gives an error.
2.Fixed clock drift issue.
3.FTP Server : remove Unicode and add Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese into the supported list. And this modification makes more ftp clients to being supported.
4.UPnP AV and iTunes Server : fixed mp3 is unrecognized and can't be display correctly when id3 tag is not encoded by Unicode issue.
5.Fixed : Avoid putting a set of previously formatted Raid1 drives back to the unit will trigger a
reformatting operation issue.
6.Quota setting: a minus number is not allowed to be as a quota input value.
7.Wrong ftp server's help file description, change default user from 5 to 10.
8.Limit the length of password and username of Email Alert and Schedule Downloads to avoid web crashed.
Max. length username and password of Email Alert is 31 characters.
Max. length username and password of Schedule Downloads is 15 characters.
9.Show error message when invalid Email address's format is input by user.
10.To block user to create a folder name with special characters like: ',<,? and etc.
11.System->configuration settings : if user upload a wrong configuration file, show an error message.
12.Quota Setting: avoid to input a quota value that is larger than the total available size of HDD.
13.Schedule Downloads : fixed incremental backup unworkable issue.
12/20/2007 1.Update FTP Server's HTML Support page.
12/28/2007 1.HDDs unable to sleep on Raid mode.

It worked on mine....
:-)
Upgraded from the previous one....
The time drifting seems to be gone.... very minimal drift at least....
I am syncronizing with nist servers (using Ip address)
I did not reformat this time - I did with the previous firmware.
I have it configured as RAID0.... 2 500 GB Samsung HD
I am also using TwonkyMedia 4.4.4.4 RC1 and it works....

The Twonky version you are using is the DNS-323 version? If so, is it possible to send it to me. I purchased a licence for Twonky and am having problems getting the latest version for the DNS-323. Do you have a contact at Twonky - email? Any help is appreciated
